"- It’s incredible being a part of something small. With around ~50 people in AUS, it’s very different to most of the other places I’ve worked. This doesn’t diminish our output. I was a bit hesitant about viewing it due to the hype, but that was put aside as soon as it started. Here's my thoughts (ex-FB and ex-Googler):"
"- The impact was bigger than I gave credit. The political science is there. You’ve got 40-45% on each side that will vote one way, and then 10-20% that can be influenced. Independent of the “how” - this equation can and was repeatedly exploited."
"- There are ways this can be exploited through big tech. If you had a large enough sample size of “swinging” voters, you can lookalike/model this information across critical geographies and effectively influence people. But…"
"- It requires big budgets, a high volume of differing creative, and agile deployment. While the constant mentions of “the data” were in the documentary, less heed was paid to the volume of ad spend, how much creative was produced, and how it was deployed."

"Facebook has taken steps to mitigate this influence. Including declaring political ads and being able to view what advertisers are doing via the Info & Ads tool. I feel like the same thing could be done with Google/YouTube just as ruthlessly."
