Acknowledgements

A lot of work goes into writing a book as an individual, yet the author benefits from a lot of invisible people who provide sage wisdom, support, or kind words along the way.

Thanks to all of my former colleagues (now friends) that have kept in touch with me throughout my career. I love hearing about what you’re up to, and sharing with you my latest hare-brained schemes. Special callouts for Matt, Liz, and Davor who have consistently made time to connect and cheer from the sidelines despite our time working together being long ago.

Thank you to my freelance and consulting clients. It’s really hard flicking the switch and backing yourself to work for organisations I parachute into and exit once the project’s complete. Thank you to my early subscribers on LukeMarshall.net and people who signed up for the book early. It was delayed by a year and I appreciate your patience. I’ve been threatening to write more content for a very long time and it’s gratifying to finally be in a place to do this more consistently.

I also want to acknowledge all of the authors and contributors I’ve drawn inspiration from as an avid reader myself. Some of them are listed in the Recommended Reading section, and there are a lot more that I’ve had the privilege of absorbing what they’re teaching. A very special shoutout to Steven Pressfield - his series of books on creativity regularly kick my arse and I love that I can now receive that kick in audiobook format as well.

Thanks to something much bigger than me. I’ve been on my own spiritual journey since my first book and I owe a lot of my growth and development over the last five years to finding something I’m comfortable with. It sees me devote more time to service, meditation, and giving back. Thanks HP.

Lastly - a BIG and most special thanks to my partner Georgie - we’ve been thrown together in the most intimate of circumstances and I’m so pleased to be starting a family together. I love you.
